The King's School: Head commends students for 'some of the strongest the school has ever published'

52% of all grades achieved at The King’s School were A*/A.

Headteacher Darren Ayling, said: “Our Year 13s, this year, have been unusually keen to demonstrate, in the context of public examinations, that they were equal to the challenges faced by previous generations.

"It is easy to forget that, for this cohort, these were the first public examinations they have faced since the age of 11.

"We could not have asked more of them and we are very proud, as their families will be, of their results today.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents and carers for their support over the last two years. The teaching and support staff at The King’s School have gone to extraordinary lengths to make sure that any disruptions during the A Level courses were more than compensated for by additional support and catch up sessions.

“With 52% of all grades being at A*/A, the results are amongst the strongest the School has ever published, and speak for themselves.

“Well done everyone on an outstanding achievement! We hope you all enjoy the rest of the summer and the next stage of your careers.”
