It’s that time of year again.... conker season. They are everywhere you look.

I took this week’s photos more than 40 years ago when demolition work was being carried out at one of the brickyards near Peterborough.

Sitting at the top of the pile is the then World Conker Champion from the annual competition held at Ashton.
