Fire at Peterborough flat started deliberately

On Thursday at 5.24am fire crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were called to Meadenvale in Parnwell.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews arrived find a wheelie bin on fire that had spread to the gas metre and the wall cavity within the property.

Hide Ad“Firefighters used a hose reel and small gear to extinguish the fire.
“All persons were accounted for.”
The crews had returned to their stations by 9.10am before re-inspecting the site later in the day.

Meanwhile, a fire crew from Bourne was called out shortly before 7pm on Thursday to reports of smoke in the area of Burghley Street, Bourne.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service said there was “severe damage by fire to a large quantity of waste clothing and household furniture”.
The firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.
