The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Peterborough has said it is “deeply saddened and shocked” over recent terrorist attacks in France.

Three people died in a knife attack at a church in Nice in what French President Emmanuel Macron said was an “Islamist terrorist attack”.

This followed the recent murder of teacher Samuel Paty, who was beheaded close to his school outside Paris.

Haseeb Zafar, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Peterborough, said: “The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK strongly condemns the horrific terrorist attacks that have taken place in Paris and Nice, France, leaving four people dead.

“The Holy Quran states that to kill even one innocent person is akin to killing all of mankind. Therefore, those who commit such atrocities in the name of Islam can never find any justification in this faith.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost their loved ones and all those affected by this incident.”
