A primary school was targeted by burglars over the weekend.

Police were called at around 10am on Sunday with reports of a burglary at Holme Church of England Primary Academy in Church Street.

A Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman said: “A crime has been raised but is pending further investigative opportunities.

“It’s believed the break-in took place between 2am and 3am on the Sunday and entry was forced through a door from the playground.”

It is believed money was stolen.

The school is situated on the same road as St Giles - one of three churches which was broken into over the weekend.

Nothing was stolen from St Giles, but the intruders caused damage to the building.
