Police investigation continues following sudden death of woman in Peterborough

A police investigation into the sudden death of a woman in Peterborough over the weekend is continuing.

Emergency services were called to Speechley Drove, near Newborough, at about 10am yesterday (Sunday.)

The road was closed while teams worked at the scene.

Today the police cordon has been lifted, but the death is still being treated as 'unexplained.'

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: "We were called at just before 10am yesterday (3 January) to reports of a sudden death in Speechley Drove, Newborough. The death of the woman in her 40s is currently being treated as unexplained. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue."
