UPDATE FRIDAY 3.30pm: Woman injured in A16 Crowland crash not left with '˜life-threatening' Injuries, say police

A section of the A16 in Crowland had to be closed for at least five hours after a crash involving two cars earlier today.

Police and paramedics were called to the A16, near its junction with A47 roundabout and Eye Road, at about 7.40am where a Ford Focus and Citreon collided at about 7.40am this morning.

One of the car drivers, a 52-year-old woman, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with internal injuries that police have now confirmed aren’t life-threatening.

The road was reopened at about 12.30pm.

FRIDAY 12.45pm: Clear-up operation at site of two-car crash on A16 in Crowland

Emergency services are still at the scene of a two-car crash on the A16 in Crowland earlier this morning.

Two cars, one confirmed as a Ford Focus the other a Peugoet, collided close to the junction of the A47 roundabout at Eye Road at about 7.40am.

The road was initially blocked by the crash as a result of which a 52-year-old woman driver of one of the cars was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with internal injuries.

FRIDAY 8.35AM: Head-on crash shuts A16 at Crowland

A head-on two vehicle crash is blocking the A16 at Crowland this morning, Friday February 26.

Police were called at 7.40am to the collision which has taken place close to the Crowland roundabout junction.

A 52-year-old woman driver from one of the cars has been taken to a Peterborough hospital with internal injuries.

The road is closed. Local diversions are being set-up.
