Arsonists set fire to two more cars in Peterborough overnight following on from a weekend of deliberate vehicle fires in the city.

A crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a car fire in Edgecote Close, Westwood at 10.06pm last night, Tuesday April 5.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish a fire involving a Ford Focus. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

A crew from Dogsthorpe was then called at 4.18am this morning to a car fire in Clarence Road, New England.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish a fire involving a van.

The cause of the fire was again deliberate.

The arsons follow a spate of similar attacks in Peterborough last weekend.
