Peterborough's Louis Smith has made history by becoming the first British man to win an individual gymnastics medal and is coming home from Beijing with a bronze medal.

13 August:
Sailing ace Dempsey is up to seventh
Former Orton Longueville school pupil Nick Dempsey climbed up from ninth to seventh in the RS:X men's windsurfer category.

Louis's mum lives the Olympic dream
The proud mother of Peterborough gymnast Louis Smith is preparing to fly out to see her son compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Julie will be doing it for her inspirational dad
Julie's father, John, who has lung cancer, is unable to travel and will miss out on sharing his youngest daughter's dream in the Beijing Olympic arena.

25 July 2008:

15 July 2008:
Julie Hollman named in British team for Olympics.
