POSH will be coming up against some familiar faces when they take on Rushden and Diamonds in the Maunsell Cup final tomorrow afternoon.
Darren Ferguson's side take the short trip to Nene Park hoping to extend their unbeaten pre-season run to five but to do so they will first have to find a way past two former players in the form of Sagi Burton and Gareth Jelleyman.

The pair will be making their home debuts for the Blue Square Premier outfit and are expected to form a central defensive partnership while another former Posh man Curtis Woodhouse will feature in a new-look Diamonds midfield.

Burton and Jelleyman each made more than 100 first team appearances for United while Woodhouse also spent time at London Road before briefly turning his back on the game to chance his arm as a professional boxer.

And while Woodhouse does still climb through the ropes from time to time, it's Burton and Jelleyman who seem most up for the scrap against their former club.

Having suffered relegation from the Football League last season with Mansfield, Jelleyman for one is clearly determined to battle back.

"Playing against Peterborough will be a great test as they are an excellent side who have signed a lot of very good players.

"There has been investment in the club with massive changes happening since I was at London Road.

"It is a good pre-season game for us and hopefully we can come out on top. These are exciting times for all of us."

Centre-half Burton, who spent last season at Barnet was quick to echo the sentiments of his defensive partner and believes that despite the gulf in class, his new side can still emerge triumphant.

"I have played against Peterborough before a few times and that doesn't hold any sentiment for me," he said.

"I will just get on with it and hopefully we can win. I'm looking forward to another game because pre-season has gone well already with our trip to Portugal last week.

"It was fantastic to get a draw against a local side and then claim a great victory over Bristol City

"So far everything has been positive both personally and for the whole squad.

"I played here for Peterborough and as an away player you would be really up for it because it's a good local derby."
