Peterborough United boss Grant McCann has been nominated for the League One Manager of the Month award for October.

McCann led Posh to 16 points in seven matches with victories over Milton Keynes, Forest Green, Oxford, Accrington Stanley and Cambridge alongside a point against Burton with just one defeat- coming at Wycombe. Posh scored 15 goals in the month.

He has been nominated alongside Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna, Sheffield Wednesday’s Darren Moore and Steven Schumacher of Plymouth Argyle.

Schumacher will perhaps be the favourite given that his side were unbeaten in the month and took 19 points from seven matches. Ipswich matched Posh’s points tally while Sheffield Wednesday picked up 14.

No Posh players have been nominated for Player of the Month- with Victor Adeboyejo (Burton), Barry Bannan (Sheffield Wednesday), Aaron Collins (Bristol Rovers) and Michael Cooper (Plymouth) instead getting the nominations.

Ex-Posh boss Steve Evans is up for the League Two award after taking 14 points from seven games with Stevenage.

The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager

Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.

The winners of all of the awards will be announced on Friday (November 11).
