Good marks for city school
The inspection highlighted improvements across the board, attributed in part to the leadership of Principal Dennis Kirwan who took up the role in September 2014.
The Ofsted inspectors recognised improvements in teaching standards since the last inspection in 2012, noting that staff at the academy go the extra mile to inspire and motivate their students.

Hide AdMr Kirwan said he was now aiming for an ‘outstanding’ grade. He said: “We’re very proud of the results from this inspection. Both our teaching staff and our students are committed to making the academy an environment in which our students can excel.
“It’s fantastic that our efforts have been recognised by Ofsted in this way.”
