Hospital staff help in Uganda
Four staff members from Peterborough City Hospital's Theatres Department recently travelled to southern Uganda to perform life-changing surgeries and support the development of clinical services at Kisiizi Hospital.
Consultants Jonathan Jones, Robert Dennis, Mark Latimer and theatre manager Mark Robertshaw spent a week working alongside hospital staff to perform life changing surgeries on children with limb deformities, patients with severe burns and trauma patients.
Jonathan said: “The experience was both rewarding and challenging. The team and I had to adapt our practices to suit their environment which really opened our eyes to how fortunate we are to have access to the most up-to-date equipment and training.”
