House, stable and caravan fires in Peterborough tackled by firefighters

Fire crews have tackled fires involving a house, stable, caravan and outbuilding in the past few days.

At 6.16pm on Friday crews from Dogsthorpe were called to a fire in Hawkshead Way, Gunthorpe.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving two sheds spreading to a house. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their station by 8pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

At 3.33pm on Saturday crews from Stanground and Dogsthorpe, the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade and Ramsey were called to a fire in Crowland Road in Eye Green.

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire in a stable block that was spreading quickly to an adjacent block. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and jets.

The crews returned to their stations by 6.35pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

At 3.44pm on Monday crews from Dogsthorpe and Stamford were called to a fire in Stamford Road in Barnack.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the open that had spread to a caravan. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and jets before returning to their stations by 7.15pm.

And at 5.30am on Wednesday a crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a fire in Oxney Road in Eastfield.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving tyres that was spreading to an outbuilding. They extinguished the fire using a jet and returned to their station by 6.35am.
