Focus on alcohol awareness
The campaign aims to give residents the tools to prevent, understand and combat common health problems like those linked to drinking too much, allowing them to live healthier for longer.
Councillor Diane Lamb, Peterborough City Council’s cabinet member for public health, said: “Drinking too much too often can impact on your health. It is a worrying statistic that alcohol now costs the NHS £3.5 billion per year, equal to £120 for every taxpayer.

“You could try making some simple swaps when you’re out, or, if you drink every day, try having at least a couple of alcohol-free nights each week.
“It is never too late to start being healthier. Find out how every little change helps and what support is available at www.healthypeterborough.org.uk.”
Sources of support and tips will be provided via social media and posters across the city throughout June.
