War veterans to save on care costs after councillor motion
Peterborough veterans who were injured before 2005 will now have their war pensions exempted from financial assessments for care. A motion from Councillor John Fox, in his capacity as Armed Forces Community Champion, was agreed by Peterborough City Council's cabinet on Monday.
As a national policy, only veterans injured after 2005 have their war pension exempted for care costs.
The council will now have to pay around £5,500 extra from the motion being agreed.
