Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has withdrawn his threat to sue fellow League One clubs if the vote to continue or curtail the 2019-20 League One season goes against Posh next week.

Posh remain keen for the season to be completed, but they appear to be very much in the minority.

MacAnthony’s frustration at events caused him to utter a legal threat to the EFL and clubs after a long day of meetings and press duties last weekend.

MacAnthony, in his Hard Truth podcast, said: “I did legal advice, as did many clubs, as it’s the sensible thing to do in business,

“But I was tired last week when I made those comments about sueing other clubs. It’s not something we will be doing.”
