Petterborough United have had a £1 million bid for Hibs striker Jason Cummings rejected, according to reports in Scotland.

The 21 year-old striker has scored 46 goals in 109 appearances (17 as a substitute) for the Scottish Championship club.

Scottish TV has said the Posh bid was made yesterday (August 5) and with add-ons was worth £1.7 million, but Hibs are not interested in selling.

Cummings signed a new four-year contract earlier this summer.

Posh let forward Aaron Williams join non-league Nuneaton yesterday. Striker Lee Angol is out of action until October with a broken leg.

It would be a surprise if Posh had that sort of cash available for a purchase, even though they sold winger Jon Taylor to Rotherham for a reported £500k yesterday.

Posh director of football Barry Fry could not be reached for comment. Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony declined to comment.
