LINCS PREMIER DIVISION: Peacock pride as Deeping go top, but Bourne beaten
Veteran bowlers Lee Peacock and Meli Adatia were the stars of the show for Deeping. The pair are in such prime form, Deeping’s obvious batting frailties can be overlooked, for now.
Left-armer Peacock was quite brilliant yesterday taking advantage of generous seam and swing conditions to claim the first five Grantham wickets to fall during an unbroken 17-over spell of 6-41.

Hide AdAnd Adatia’s miserly season continued with a 13.3-over burst which yielded three wickets at a cost of just 23 runs as Grantham were shot out for a modest 99.
Deeping made hard work of a small target as the home bowlers also enjoyed the conditions, but teenager Pat Harrington set the victory up with a hard-working 24 from 101 balls.
There were still 15 required to win when Adatia joined Ashley Fisher at the crease at 87-7, but they edged Deeping to a win which has given them a seven-point lead at the top of the table.
But it’s rapidly turning into a very difficult season for neighbours Bourne who were beaten by four wickets at the Abbey Lawns by Woodhall Spa.
