An exciting festival of 21st century plays from Peterborough's Mask Theatre
Peterborough Mask Theatre is bringing a short festival, Cubed3, featuring seven 21st century plays to the stage of the Key Theatre Studio this month.
Following the success of A Monster Calls and the near sell out of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None last year, Mask Theatre, who have a history of producing shows in and around Peterborough for 76 years, will return to the city stage with a diverse collection of modern plays in three programmes.
Programme 1
Tuesday, March 10, and Saturday, March 14 (matinee) will pair two very different comedies:

Ramona tells Jim by Sophie Wu tells of a teen romance, revisited some years later as the couple are reunited;
while Last Tango in Little Grimley by David Tristram is a classic comedy set around the chaos of an amateur dramatic company.
Programme 2
Wednesday, March 11, and Friday, March 13, offers a trio of plays.

Only in the Dark is a surreal absurdist comedy by Matthew Clift, which is as much about slapstick as it is about philosophical musings;
The Eye Maidens by Suzanne Tuck drops in on the committee meeting of a ladies’ club, whose space has accidently been double-booked with a well- known local theatre group;
and Three Kings by Stephen Beresford follows one man’s search for meaning regarding fathers and sons, the gifts and burdens of inheritance, and the unfathomable puzzle of human relationships.
Programme 3
The final programme in the Cubed series, Thursday, March 12, and Saturday, March 14, (evening) features two intense psychological dramas:
Nine by Jane Shepard tells the story of two women held against their will;
The Same by Enda Walsh follows two women who meet in a psychiatric institution and slowly realise the truth about themselves.
Each programme is independent and can be booked individually, with discounts for booking multiple nights.
Due to the themes developed in the plays, there is an age recommendation of 14+.
