A primary school in Peterborough has created a special video and artwork to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

St Michael’s Church School in Cardea has made a huge effort to mark the day where victory in Europe was secured by the Allied forces.

Staff have not only painted a commemorative message on the ground outside the school, but have also made a huge effort to put together a video with ‘We Will Meet Again’ in the background to replicate the era, as well as footage in black and white.

Headteacher Becky Smith said: “St Michael’s Church School staff wanted to mark the VE Day anniversary celebrations for our children as we are not able to be in school together.

“We chose to make a video to share with pupils, parents and governors. This has been sent home to families along with a pack of activities to help them mark this special day.”
