Going through infant loss is a truly harrowing experience, so Penny Lanning from Paston has used her experience to try and help other families going through the same loss.

Creating personalised memorial packs called Tiny Treasures, the 37-year-old sends out free boxes to anyone going through losing a child.

Wanting to support all families, Penny recognises the importance of acknowledging the loss. She said: “I’m an angel mum and all of my angels were prior to 24 weeks. I had nothing to remember them by. A baby born after 24 weeks is considered a stillborn but a baby born before is considered a miscarriage.”

Having made more than 60 memorial packs so far, the families receiving them have called them “beautiful”.

One recipient said: “This is amazing and so kind-hearted. Everything included bought a few tears as it’s so thoughtful. Grieving over your own child is an unexplainable pain yet this has brought so much comfort to me. I will forever treasure it in remembrance of my angels.”

Penny handmakes the boxes with love with the help of her 10-year-old daughter Lucy. Each memorial box is different but most come with a knitted blanket and hat and a certificate of life. Not wanting recipients to have to pay, Penny takes on all the costs so parents do not have any worry or stress when requesting one.
