Now our series looking at the stories behind the new blue plaques installed around the city by Peterborough Civic Society has come to an end, it’s time to raid the PT archives for some classic images of days past.

This week’s selection is random, both in time and place.

The two pictures at the top of the page share a railway theme. One on is a view of the New England railway cottages on Lincoln Road which backed onto the nearby line.

The next picture was taken at Nene Valley Railway and shows some enthusiastic fans admiring Deltic Diesel No55015 Tulyar which was owned by Deltic Preservation Society.

The two pictures of street scenes are of two very different parts of the city. One is Lincoln Road looking towards (I think!) Westgate.

The other is a picture of Glinton. I would guess both probably date back to the 1960s.

The final picture of a group of young motorcycle enthusiasts is also from the 60s and was taken at the back of the Odeon Cinema.
