What’s on: New virtual reality experience opens in Peterborough. Fun for families, groups and parties

The latest VRXtra franchise is opening its doors in Peterborough, to bring fun, excitement and the immersive experiences of virtual reality to a whole new level. The newest VRXtra franchise opens on June 22.

Step into the ultimate destination where everyone, from VR novices to seasoned players, can immerse themselves into a variety of different experiences and games.

Suitable from aged seven years upwards and for all abilities, at VRXtra Peterborough there is something for everyone. Players can play solo, play together with friends, family or work colleagues. It’s also fully wheelchair accessible, as inclusivity is at the heart of the VR experience.

All players will only ever see and play games that are age appropriate specific to them.

VRXtra offers over 60 different VR Experiences, from free-roam VR, VR escape rooms, and a collection of curated VR Games. With 20 VR headsets available, the venue is versatile enough to accommodate solo players to groups of all sizes, large and small, including corporate team-building events.

With 2 free-roam spaces available supporting up to 4 players each; players can defend against zombies in "Dead Ahead", cook up a storm in "Cook'd Up!", or battle it out against each other in "Quantum Arena".

For hosting birthdays, stags, hens and other special occasions there are private party rooms available where guests can enjoy refreshments and a slice of cake before or after they take to the game floor to immerse themselves into the vast worlds of virtual reality. There is a dedicated party room on site available to hire.

With a selection of other experiences such as "VR escape rooms", and "Xtra Games", there’s an experience to suit everyone – why not come back time and time again to try them all?

Once you arrive at VRXtra to play you'll be shown the ropes of how to operate your VR headset for your game, after a few minutes of practicing you'll be a natural. For all players at VRXtra there is plenty of expertise on hand to ensure your experience is Xtra special.

Beyond entertainment – a new way to train and learn

VRXtra also offers virtual training in a variety of disciplines – helping give real-life experience to learning in careers such as healthcare, manufacturing and academia.

Conveniently located within the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, PE7 8BE, the newest VRXtra franchise is easy to find and there is plenty of free parking. With numerous places to shop, eat and drink on the doorstep, it makes the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre the ideal place for a day out with family and friends.

Alongside the immersive virtual reality experiences, VRXtra Peterborough will be offering soft drinks and snacks. Open for 10 hours a day from Monday to Saturday between 10am and 8pm, and six hours on Sunday between 10 am and 4pm.
