Man admits head-butting Peterborough supermarket worker

A man has admitted assaulting a Peterborough supermarket worker

Scott Archer, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested on Thursday night (14 May) following an assault on a member of staff at Sainsbury’s in the Bretton Centre.

At about 9.30pm, Archer, who was armed with a metal pole, had a verbal argument with the 62-year-old victim which escalated to Archer head-butting him.

On 5 May, Archer called an ex-partner more than 100 times, breaching a restraining order put in place in November last year (2019).

On Friday (15 May), he was charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, assault and breach of a restraining order.

He admitted the offences at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court and has been remanded in custody to be sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.
