Police stop van on A1 near Peterborough - and find it is more than a tonne overweight

Eagle-eyed police officers pulled over a van on the A1 near Peterborough yesterday - and found it to be more than a tonne overweight.

The Huntingdonshire police team were on the A1(M) when they spotted the vehicle, which was described as ‘sitting very low.’

The driver of the wood-filled van, was forced to make sure the vehicle was road legal again before setting off.

Drivers face a fine for being stopped with an overweight vehicle.
