I was concerned to see on Friday that the staff on the front desk as you enter the main hospital entrance have no protection from the spread of the virus.

I was expecting the hospital to set an example in social distancing as per government advice, I was expecting to see a screen to protect them or at the very least a line on the floor that visitors should not go past.

However there was nothing to protect the staff. There was even one visitor leaning on the counter inches away from the receptionist.

This gives a poor impression as it seem that the hospital does not think that social distancing is relevant for their receptionists.

There was a report late last week in your paper that a pharmacy in Peterborough has had a coronavirus screen added to their counter to stop the infection,

This really should be the least that the hospital could do to protect their staff who are visible to everyone who visits the hospital.
