A Peterborough special school cooked up a recipe for success during a healthy eating week.

Marshfields Special School held the event last term - and were rewarded with a £1,000 prize from the British Nutrition Foundation for their efforts.

Food teacher Alison Cavanagh, pictured with Maya Claydon and Louis Heppell, said: “We did lots of work with our students on healthy eating and living - we managed to raise £500 for the British Heart Foundation with some of our activities, and also did art, zumba and science classes, as well as a Ready Steady Cook event, which saw teachers paired with pupils.

“We were inspired by the British Nutrition Foundation, and submitted a report to them. We won one of ten prizes available across the country.”
