The A47 link road from Bretton Way to Bourges Boulevard was partially blocked.
Cambridgeshire police said the part closure was due to a broken down vehicle and that motorists should avoid the area.
The AA said there had been an accident.
The closure has now been lifted and traffic is starting to return to normal.
