Top Yard Boxing School teams up with former World Champion Amir Khan

The city’s successful Top Yard Boxing School has joined up with the Amir Khan Academy and moved to new premises on Cromwell Road.

And the club will be back in action on August 3, following the lifting of lockdown restrictions.

Last season saw many individual achievements with Freddie Brooks (15) reaching the final of the National Amateur Boys Championship. Lockdown robbed Brooks of attending an England development squad session.

Sahil Malak (22) was another success story reaching the semi-finals of the National Development Championships, while Santino ‘ Shotgun’ Harris (12) had a realistic chance of achieving National honours in the Schoolboys National Championships.

The new premises means Top Yard can offer a greater number of classes for junior and senior boxers .

Amir Khan will officially open the new club soon. It will be called AK Academy, but Top Yard School boxers will operate from within it.
