Peterborough United are searching for a vital Championship win at home to Stoke City (March 12, 3pm).

They will have to do it without goalkeeper Steven Benda though, who has been ruled out for at least the next three games. The return of Jack Taylor does provide a boost to Posh’s cause though.

Stoke, meanwhile, have not won in any of their last seven games in all competitions and seem to have dropped Posh hero Josef Bursik from their line-up.

Cleared out by Ward. Headed on by Marriott. Allen goes into the book for a blatant trip on Burrows as he tries to bring it over halfway.

Stoke corner right at the end of the half. Ward block Tymon’s cross.

Posh are trying this new thing of Cornell not kicking long but either passing short to Knight to run out with it or Knight taking it himself after a long conversation with Cornell standing over it. Knight’s driving run has made the goal so I suppose it’s worth a go.

The game has settled back into the pattern of before. All Stoke, Posh sitting in.

Posh win a free-kick on the left edge of the pitch. Burrows fouled. He swings the ball in himself, Kent meets it but it’s well over. Good period for Posh though.

Well then. Out of nothing Posh are level. A driving run from Knight down the right of the pitch. He pulls it across for Fuchs, he controls, dargs it back for JCH, who runs onto the ball and curls it into the top corner.

His first goal from open play when he’s started this season.

this is really dire. Stoke have such an easy game. Any pressure from a press comes late and even if they do lost it, the Posh player on the ball has no options and has to go long in search on nobody at all.

Brown slots past Cornell into the far corner of the goal with ease. Two Stoke passes was all it took to get in on goal. Edwards tackled Fletcher, the ball comes to Fuchs who plays is straight to Baker. He slides in Brown and it’s a simple finish.
