Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry has dismissed reports of Posh interest in Swindon Town midfielder Scott Twine.

Twine (21) was linked with a move to Posh by a national newspaper reporter over the weekend, but Fry insists no targets for next season have yet been identified.

“We haven’t had a meeting about next season yet,” Fry said. “That will take place when we know what division we are playing in and we know what the budget will be. Twine’s name hasn’t been mentioned to me.”

Twine was cautioned for simulation when Posh won 3-1 at Swindon earlier this month. He has scored 12 goals this season including a couple of stunning strikes, but seven of them arrived during a loan spell at League Two side Newport County.
