The teams have met 18 times and recorded seven wins apiece. There have been four draws including last season when Malik Mothersille (penalty) and Kwame Poku scored for Posh in a 2-2 game. It’s a big match between the two this Saturday, especially for Orient who are in the bottom four ahead of a tough Tuesday night trip to Stevenage.
The most significant meeting in East London arrived in the League One play-off semi-final second leg in May 2014 which the hosts won 2-1 to complete a 3-2 aggregate win.
Britt Assombalonga scored for Posh in a 1-1 first leg draw at London Road, but Conor Washington’s late strike wasn’t enough to keep alive dreams of a second trip to Wembley that season.
Can you name the Posh team that started that play-off defeat? And do you know what happened to them?
Here are the answers….

1. BOOBY OLEJNIK
Multi-lingual Austrian goalkeeper who moved to Posh from Torquay for an undisclosed fee in the 2012-13 season and was between the sticks on that fateful day at Crystal Palace in the final game of the Championship season. Made 106 appearances for Posh before playing on loan at Scunhorpe and York and then leaving London Road on a free transfer to join Exeter. He finished his career at Mansfield before retiring officially in July 2020 to work in the technology sector. Photo: Paul Franks

2. MARK LITTLE
LIttle was a popular, dashing right-back at Posh and made 185 appearances after joining on a free transfer from Wolves in June 2010 after a successful loan spell. He scored four goals for Posh. He helped Posh to promotion from League One in his first season at the club. Moved to Bristol City on a free transfer in 2014 and helped them to promotion to the Championship as well. Subsequently played for Bolton and Bristol Rovers, Yeovil and Penybont, but retired from professional football last month. Photo: Alan Storer

3. JACK BALDWIN
Centre-half who moved to Posh from Hartlepool for £500k in January, 2014. He had been compared to Alan Hansen, but he never lived up to that tag at Posh. Whole-hearted but accident prone skipper who played 116 times for Posh, scoring 4 goals, before leaving, rather surprisingly, for League One rivals Sunderland. He also went on to play for Salford, Ross County, Bristol Rovers and Northampton Town. Now at Colchester. Photo: Joe Dent

4. NAT KNIGHT-PERCIVAL
Knight-Percival was a winger who had converted to a central defender when Posh signed him from Wrexham on a free transfer in the summer of 2012. He stayed with Posh until leaving on a free transfer for Shrewsbury two years later after making 56 appearances and scoring 1 goal. The play-off semi-final defeat was his last Posh match. After Shrewsbury he moved on free transfers to Bradford City, Morecambe, Carlisle and Tranmere before joining National North League side Kidderminster Harriers. Last seen at Southport.
