GB distance running legend Jo Pavey beat the locals in a New Year’s Eve event.

The event was due to be held in Ferry Meadows, but was cancelled due to Covid regulations and was staged as a virtual race instead. Pavey is an ambassador for the race organisers, Sublime Racing, and jogged a 10km near her Devon home in 41:52 to finish as quickest lady.

Pavey, who is now 47, won the European Championship 10,000 metre title for Great Britain in 2014 - less than a year after giving birth.
